Suchitra Srinivas, Director, of ITS Music has been teaching vocal classical music since 2005 in Plainsboro New Jersey. Suchitra is a disciple of vidwan Late Shri O S Thiagarajan, and she has to her credit trained hundreds of students in the traditional style of Carnatic music. Her students regularly perform in popular music festivals in the Tri-State area and have also won prizes in several music competitions. Suchitra’s school has a well-developed syllabus for both vocal and theory lessons, her students appear for exams evaluated by external evaluators.  Suchitra’s innovative teaching approach has led her to explore using Carnatic music as a tool to assist in behavior modification in children with special needs which yielded immense positive results.
